While my internet wasn't working right, me and Shawn went to a candle light memerial for a race car driver that died a year ago at our race track. At the end of it we watched some videos of him raceing. They were not going to show the one he died in, but his wife said to go ahead and play it. The guy had a heart attack on the track. He was coming down the front straight away (in 1st place) then suddenly turned left sharp just before turn 1, the car went through the infield, hit one of the tractor tires, ran straight over it (never seen that at all) went straight up the embankment hit the wall and went straight up in the air, flying completely over the grandstands in turn 2, over a 20 foot water tank, clearing it by a good 15 foot, and landed in the pit area. upside down on an openwheel race car waiting to come onto the track for the next race.

What the heck was this guy driving you might ask? A v8 chevy camaro? A 1000 horse power super late model? No a 4 cylender ford escort exactly the same year as the one I was driving.

that is utter insanity almost like a movie scrïpt... gota love those escorts... well atleast the the 6 cyl version haha . to have that carnage from a 4 cyl just adds to the craziness of it


it reminds me of a race car driver here . australias best eva a touring and v8 supercar driver ever died about 2 years ago on a crapy charity rally in my state. no flips over grandstands though there was rain the day before and it had washed out some pot holes he hit 1 lost it and went straight into a tree , the impact split the car in half.


really is a shame atleast they went out doing somthing they love , i can only hope i get the same opitunity

You know thats kinda how I see it, I had THOUGHT that the guy was dead from the heart failure in the car in the straight away long before the... Ummm rocket booster insodent, but, I only found out there the he actually lived for a week in the hospital before passing away. Guess it was even more crazy to have survided something like that long enough to die in a hospital. Makes ya wonder if it wasn't the hospital that killed him. (espically the one here in our city everyone goes to NASHVILLE an hours drive to escape death..)

Those 4 bangers that race at clarksville are no joke. when I got onto the track it was actually my first time even in the damn car, much less on the track. I consider myself a pretty good driver IRL having avoided a huge number of wrecks, and even I was like, "Oh shit Im gona die Im gona die", and I drive my street camaro over 120MPH any chance I get. The straight aways about as long as my back yard, and soon as you get to top speed you DONT STOP, you let up on the gas to aim the car into the turn, Like a split second then stomp the gas again and it looks like your headed for a wall the whole time. I didn't finish last place that was my goal lol. that and NOT wreck the car which I also managed. So I'm good. Hell the car still looked outstanding when we crushed it. I'm guessing the speed we hit is about 80 for the escorts. Let me tell ya they are hauling. Last race I went to they had a 1000$ race for our class, and they made them qualify for it, Where the Big ones the super late models run a 13 second lap time, (ya that fast...) Michel the other guy who drives an escort still came up with a 16. There where late models that Did WORSE then that...
