ay guys long time no see   are we still able to play free uo ? connectuo down i have no idea how to get onto any shards heh i no razor can do it but cant figure it out its drivin me nuts haha

hey, good to hear from you again Benichy, the shard has been down a while now and will be so until Sirenix says something, haven't heard from him in a looong time... hopefully the shard will get back alive soon.

ay daniel good seein ya again mate hah ye i think all this time it took to gedt the net bak on has come bak to bite me in the ass haha. sad to see avatars down hope to see her name again up in lights where it  belongs.  

is anyone playing on any other shards in the mean time ? i have no idea how to connect to any shard now that connectuo is gone

well if you get the host adress and port, you can via connectuo make a "add a local server" and write it there, then connect to it with connectuo, if connect uo shows a error sign, try choosing configuration and on "browser" choose templates to default, then you might have to restart connectuo but after that you should be able to find the ones you have added in the "favorites" map in connectuo.

However I haven't been able to find a good shard yet so...
tell me if you find one

i put the call out to anyone playin on a difrent shard or those who r like me and r still fumblin through all the crapy shards to put ya 2 cents in . i recon if we all got on the same shard and worked together we could deffnetly get alot more fun out of them while waitin for avatars trumphient return.

ohh yeah dude! SPAWN is still alive and he plays with his friends on Uo Demise shard its on razor shard list =) i started like OSI tipe shard   but i still little miss custom things on AK..ohh..but i starting to love this new shard im 37 days old on it

i found a nice lil shard  called pre-uor  sithlock     as you might have guessed its pre uor which means no piss weak arty weps n armour        if anyones eva on there my names Fried McMannis  

damn... If I knew the shard was going to be down this long, I would have kept hosting for a while longer.... I actually still have the shard and all the log files and whatnot, but it would be up to you all if you think it's worth it to bring it back.  the only reason I would see for bringing it back, short of a High demand (more then 4 people), would be for Peo and other's to scrïpt test so the shard can be updated to the new version and we can add some balance requirements.  Up to you guys though, just throwing it out there.  I played Demise for a while, got my full LRC set and raped for a bit, bought two keeps, and then quit because it got too easy. =[

OMG...does its soo hard to get full LRC? omg... does its hard to buy two keeps? go try doom luck in gaunglet...go get a 25 stats scroll get a 120 war skill PS.go get nice doom arty to go pvp or go get barbed ruinic kit..rofl...the only one thing to demise is need to fully instal and make ML STUFF dungeons and crafts...all other things are perfect for me...and about opening AK..for 4 people? sorry but screw it... not at this time...not with out SIrenix...

i understand where spawn is commin from, sure 4 players just like before not rly getting anyway . but screw it why not the only way we are goin to attract more players is if the shard is online. dnt get me wrong the players we r tryin to attract arnt newbies and its not like uo is all the rage these days, but we have a good shard here and a loyal group of people backin it up.

ill put my hand up if we can get enough interest to get avatars bak up but honestly instead of sittin here thinkin bak to wat it was like in the old days how about we step 1 giant step forword and think of AK without sirnix. dnt get me wrong hes a top bloke bout it sounds like hes got more excitin prospects on his plate at the moment and its not rly fair on him or us to be leavin such at task for him apon (if) his return

if anyone is keen i say a massive recruitment drive is needed and mass shard thieft of players which is deffnetly not impossable not with the combo ( shard + players+ knowlage) we have at our disposale here

I agree with Benichy, might not be much with max 4 people online (and more likely just 0-1 players online since we're on at different times) but since there have been no word from Sirenix, the only way the shard will live on is if it gets back up so new players can find it. Although it's all up to Palidn if he wants to host the shard or not, I know it takes alot of resources/time to keep the shard up and it might not look like it's worth it if there's no one online...

well, I think we need to do a lot of work to the shard as well, so I'd be a lot more likely to reopen if we could get some scrïpting work done on the shard.  I can think of at least 4 people i could get to come play if we were activly improving and working on the shard.  As for me hosting again, I could probably do it with minimal trouble.  I have a second PC that is just sitting around collecting dust.  I will try and get in touch with Peo and see if he is up for some more random scrïpting.  While we wait for that, why not try and 'test the water' so to speak, and see if we can all find one or two friends we either play UO with now, or have played with in the past to try and join us for the reopening of the shard.  Of course this will probably mean a total wipe of characters and items, to make the shard a desireable place to play again.  I also want to make it less Vender heavy, and give crafters something to do.  This may either require the drastic decrease in gold or the elimination of many of the vender types.  Both are very easy to do though.  Let me know your thoughts.

I'm afraid no one I know plays uo, however I will try and put Avatar kingdom on all the voting places again, maybe with some new info like "reopening" and such, hopefully that will attract some new players.
A wipe would be okay I guess, but I suggest veterans should get something at start.
About vendors I'm not really sure what you mean...

palidn is right on the money there , if we all can bring somonone in then the chances of them staying with us is dramaticly increased. i not really sure i can help with the scripiting side but those who cant can deffnetly put there skills into work by stealing players from difrent shards.

as for the vendor gold situation

a gold reducment could scare off a few people who arnt totaly to grips with what we are trying to achive trade wise , maby just restirct some of the more basic things or just play around with them

Talior:    Only gm taliors can use dye tubs of any sort
       
          Only taliors can cut cloth or leather ( including bandies)



Blacksmith :   bsmithing is gonna be alot harder to ajust,
its ether we make it harder for the newbies by takin away the vendors thus taking the ability for the blaksmith in general to make any kind of profit by wears and weps bar runic meterial etc.

Or make it hard for everyone by insanely rampin up the difficlty to create the major items, ( plate armour  heater shields helbards to name a few)  
Then wipe all the plate h shield ect from loot drops


i think that will drassticly change / increase the blacksmiths role   aswell as makin the game harder for us all

first open and make normal shard with unique things and soo on...what dumbass will come to play to shard if shard is empty and dont have nothing attractive? like AK was before...nothing at all... no finished races and classes ssystem..no... ML stuff which is very interesting and attractive thing. no players at all.. who would be interested in that? no recruiting if u have not what to offer to players...

Spawn you seem really upset about the possibility or reopening, please not, just because the shard may be coming back up, it does not mean you have to rejoin.  it would be nice if you did and everything, but don't feel you have to.  As for venders/money.  I was thinking of either lowering the amount of gold droped or taking the standard town venders and only allow them to sell a few basic items, ie a blacksmith would sell things like only leather armor, 1 sword, 1 ax, 1 dagger and it would take 24 hours to respawn (or make new weapons as would be the case in the real world) that way anyone with smithing can create lots of items, and NPC smiths can still buy the gear you find in loot (just at a lower price.  no more 50 gold daggers and whatnot)

oh okay, sounds good I guess.
I also like Benichys idea of only tailors being able to use dye tubs and such.
